Kaishi is a double folded Japanese washi paper which is small enough to carry in a pocket. Kaishi are traditionally used during the Japanese tea ceremony as paper napkins for serving sweets and to wipe the lip of tea bowl after taking a sip. Kaishi are also used to wrap any leftover sweets before placing them inside the front flap or sleeve of the kimono.
